Keeney Quad
The renovation of a 1960s era freshman residence hall on the southern edge of the Brown University campus included the installation of new life safety systems and the upgrade of all finishes and furniture throughout the building. This large facility was divided into three distinct “houses” in order to create more appropriately-scaled residential communities for the student residents. Each house has its own separate entrance and its own finishes palette that improves the general way finding and orientation within the building. The renovated project features two new elevators, refurbished bathrooms, including accessible and gender neutral toilet rooms, and large student lounges at the attic level with study spaces, recreation areas and full kitchens.
