Demiss Shiferaw

Demiss’ first path was in engineering. He quickly changed directions when he saw the inspiring Fallingwater in his first semester of freshmen year in college. The journey of design excites him: it starts with unlimited possibilities that require cross-disciplinary knowledge to evolve into a specific process and destination. Demiss loves designing at DiMella Shaffer and carries that enthusiasm into projects such as the Leonard Florence Center for Living in Chelsea, MA. He associates himself with mostly Higher Education and Senior Living projects and dabbles in Corporate design. With a PhD in Housing Studies, Demiss designs creative buildings that serve a variety of uses.
