Legacy at Willow Bend

The Dallas Home for Jewish Aged sought to reach the next generation of seniors by moving beyond what is currently available in the CCRC market and exploring new opportunities to provide a life-enriching environment. The Legacy guarantees a lifetime use of one’s residence along with many services and amenities, priority access to on-site assisted living, comprehensive skilled nursing care and memory support care. When setting out to develop a new community, the Legacy wanted to provide upscale senior life-care homes where every resident feels dignified at every care level.

The design team organized the community in a series of buildings, many of which are linked together to create the impression of a village. 103 independent living units, 12 independent living villas, 40 assisted living apartments, 60 skilled nursing beds, and 18 memory supportive care beds surround three exterior courtyards. Community program elements include spaces such as a state-of-the-art fitness/aquatics center including a walking resistance pool, lap pool, and whirlpool. Dining venues include a fine dining restaurant and coffee house, an art center, an entertainment room for viewing movies, a full-service beauty salon and a fenced-in exercise area for resident’s pets.

The quality of the exterior and interior materials is purposely very similar, filled with furniture and artwork comparable to what one would find in an upscale hotel.  The success of The Legacy at Willow Bend is because of the village of living options comfortably fitting together, yet still providing for the individuality of front doors, discretely located next to each other.
